We raise money to award grants to preserve and improve interdenominational Christian places of worship in the historic county of Essex (including the unitary authorities of Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock together with the five London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest)

St John's Stratford E15

New nave ceiling

A large section of the nave ceiling fell down at St John's in Stratford in the spring of 2018. We responded with a grant of £12,500. Six months after the collapse, the restoration work was completed.

  • Annual General Meeting and The Gepp Lecture

    Wednesday 15th May 2019

    Wednesday 15th May, 2019 at St. Peter-ad-Vincula, Church Green, Coggeshall, Essex CO6 1QF at 7pm for 7.15pm. Admission free - Members and non-members welcome. The seventh annual Gepp lecture, 'A Journey to and from the Eternal City', will be given by Brian Mooney, award-winning journalist and author. His passion has taken him along ancient pilgrim ways from Walsingham to Compostela. Most recently he walked from Coggeshall to Rome and back - the subject of his talk.

  • Garden Open

    Thursday 6th June 2019

    By kind permission of Mr and Mrs James Bardrick we invite you to visit the spectacular gardens at Scrips, Cuthedge Lane, Coggeshall Hamlet, CO6 1RL on Thursday 6th June 2019 from 2pm – 4.30pm.

    Scrips has a beautiful garden of well-established rooms, including an avenue of remembrance, formal plantings and borders, a woodland walk and vegetable garden, walled pool garden, pond and extensive lawns.
